Just outside Grand Rapids, Minnesota, this architect-designed 1955 mid-century modern lakehouse sits on 30 private wooded acres with sweeping lake views and space to truly unwind. Wake to sunrise over the water, sip coffee on the dock, paddle quiet non-motorized waters, and end the day in the 8-person cedar sauna or around the fire under the stars. Thoughtfully preserved and updated for modern stays, the home blends design, comfort, and deep connection to nature.

The open great room features vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a striking double-sided stone fireplace that anchors the home and frames the lake beyond. Nearly every room looks to the water, and multiple indoor and outdoor gathering spaces make it ideal for families, couples, creatives, and groups seeking meaningful time together.

CANCELLATION POLICY

SEASONAL CANCELLATION POLICY IN PLACE:
SUMMER (May – August):

  • Cancel up to 30 days before check-in for a full refund
  • Cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, but after the 24-hour cancellation period & receive 50% refund
  • Cancel less than 14 days before check-in – no refund

WINTER (September – April):

  • Cancel up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund
  • Cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, but after the 24-hour cancellation period – receive 50%
  • Cancel less than 7 days before check-in – no refund

NOTES

Guests have full access to the home, two garages, dock, and all outdoor amenities. We offer self-check-in, flexible stays, and thoughtful touches to make your trip seamless.

Please note: Exterior of property is monitored by surveillance cameras for the safety and security of our guests and the property.  Please do not cover or disable the cameras in any way.

A striking mid-century modern staircase takes you to the lower level. It is visually dramatic, architecturally iconic, and decidedly of its era. While it offers a sculptural focal point, it does not meet today’s safety codes, with minimal railing and wide gaps that reflect vintage design priorities. Young children will need to be supervised.

We take pride in offering a spotless, well-maintained space. Our reviews speak for themselves—expect high-end linens, cozy blankets, and the kind of kitchen you’ll actually want to cook in.

HOUSE RULES

  • Please be sure to review all house rules when booking!
  • This home is located in a peaceful & quiet community. All guests staying at the home must be considerate of others in the neighboring area. Noise disturbances will not be tolerated.(quiet hours are between 10pm-7am)
  • Extra guest fees will be charged if more than noted guests stay the night as cleaning/laundry costs go up
  • No parties or events
  • Please return all furnishings to their original positions
  • Use only firewood that is provided or firewood you purchase. ABSOLUTELY NO cutting of firewood on the property or adjacent properties is allowed.
  • No burning of trash or any other materials besides firewood.
  • All Guests must be registered, if the size of your party changes please contact us
  • Be gentle with our plumbing, please DO NOT flush anything except toilet paper down the toilet not even “flushable” items
  • No Smoking of any kind indoors.
  • Smoking is allowed outdoors take care to dispose of any smoking related refuse responsibly in a trash receptacle – a $200 penalty will be charged for violations or debris discovered and disposed of by our cleaning crew
  • There is NO garbage disposal; do NOT put food, oil or debris down sink or any drains
  • For bookings longer than three weeks, guests are required to allow our cleaners to access the cottage approximately every two weeks for maintenance and cleaning. This service is at the guest’s expense. We’re happy to coordinate and schedule cleanings at a mutually convenient time to ensure minimal disruption to your stay. Thank you for helping us keep the space fresh and well-maintained!
  • Keep all outdoor fires within the fire ring and no more than five feet tall.
  • PETS: – We are happy to welcome dogs with additional pet deposit – TWO DOGS MAXIMUM – we can not accommodate cats
  • PET OWNERS: Please keep your pets off of the furniture and plan to kennel them if they are left alone in the house
  • PET OWNERS: Please pick up all pet waste (use provided pet waste bags) and dispose in the outdoor trash cans
  • Plan to supervise your pets carefully and keep them on a leash for their safety. There is abundant wildlife in the area as well as other dogs in the area.
  • Pets must be included on the reservation and pet fee paid prior to your arrival
  • We love having your entire group stay. Please be be aware of safety around the lake as well as some cleaning supplies under each of the sinks.
  • Please be courteous when engaging in outdoor sports – especially mountain biking – and shower before going to bed. Some of the local soil is very mineral rich and those minerals love to stain our bedding. Thank you!
