We are delighted to open our family cabin and share our quiet getaway with you. Enjoy soaring views of Little Jay Gould Lake and abundant nature through expansive windows or the wrap around deck. THE SPACE

Little Jay Gould is a quiet little lake attached to the Pokegama Lake chain of lakes so you can choose your own lake adventure from the peace of our private beach or take your boat from our dock and head out to enjoy the fun, fishing and food on the 6000+ acres of Pokegama Lake and all connected waterways. In the winter you have access just across the road directly onto the local snowmobile trails and right onto Pokegama Lake with easy access to the entire Itasca County trail system or fishing anywhere on the lake that the fish are biting! Our cabin features all of the spaces you need for a large group getaway or treat yourself to a luxurious stay with all of your favorite amenities. Your group can enjoy the open kitchen, dining and great room with loft lounge and gaming areas or if you need a little solitude retreat to one of the five bedrooms or dedicated work space.

CANCELLATION POLICY

SUMMER (May – August):

  • Cancel up to 30 days before check-in for a full refund
  • Cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, but after the 24-hour cancellation period & receive 50% refund
  • Cancel less than 14 days before check-in – no refund

WINTER (September – April):

  • Cancel up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund
  • Cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, but after the 24-hour cancellation period – receive 50%
  • Cancel less than 7 days before check-in – no refund

HOUSE RULES

  • The cabin is located in a peaceful & quiet lake community. All guests staying at the home must be considerate of others in the neighboring area. Noise disturbances will not be tolerated. Quiet hours are between 10pm-7am 
  • No Smoking of any kind indoors. Smoking is allowed outdoors by the garage take care to dispose of any smoking related refuse responsibly in the receptacle provided, do not bring it indoors – a $200 penalty will be charged for violations or debris discovered and disposed of by our cleaning crew 
  • Please respect check-in and check-out times (unless we have agreed on other arrangements) 
  • Any game or fish cleaning must be done outdoors or at the designated fish cleaning table in the garage. PLEASE thoroughly clean the fish cleaning space after use – violations will result in a $200 penalty to cover additional cleaning costs 
  • Please plan to launch any personal motorized watercraft at one of the many public access locations on the lake. 
  • Please use the dryer or cloths line on the west side of the house to dry any wet beach towels and swimsuits, please do not leave wet items sitting on the floor. 
  • Please be careful if moving any furniture so floors are not damaged 
  • No Parties or Events without express permission – please contact us to confirm 
  • We are sorry but we can NOT accommodate your Pets 
  • All Guests must be registered, if the size of your party changes please contact us 
  • Additional Guests (beyond 12 guests) may be allowed with permission and for an additional fee – Please contact us with questions 
  • Remove shoes while indoors 
  • No Candles 
  • No Fireworks 
  • All outdoor fires must remain contained in the fire pit & observe any local burning restrictions 
  • Please DO NOT flush anything except toilet paper down the toilet 
  • No cooking oil down any drains 
  • Please return all watercraft items to the storage space provided at the bottom of the hill and lock them back up at the end of each day. Failure to do so will result in additional charges 
  • PLEASE BE CAREFUL NEAR THE LAKE AT ALL TIMES – we accept no responsibility for your safety on or near the lake 
  • Absolutely no driving golf balls into the lake from anywhere on the property. Any evidence of this will result in a minimum $200 dollar fine to cover clean-up of our lake bottom and could include criminal charges if observed by our local Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers 
  • GARAGE: Guests are welcome to access the garage space but please refrain from parking vehicles inside the garage as it greatly increases cleaning time and expense. We also ask that you close all garage doors promptly, especially during extreme temperatures, to assist our hearing and cooling systems as well as preventing frozen pipes in cold weather. This also helps to prevent pests (critters) from making themselves at home in the cabin.
